North Harringay

PSA

Parent Staff Association
We have a very active and supportive PSA that provides a voice for parents and offers help both in and out of school. The PSA runs many fund raising activities and social events throughout the year, and has regular meetings to plan events and have discussion with parents.

Taking part
The PSA needs parents to take an active role and so encourages everyone to participate as much or as little as they can. Every Parent and Carer is automatically entitled to be a member of the PSA. Details are sent out to all parents and carers at the beginning of the school year and through regular newsletters during the term.

To get in touch the PSA has an email address: northharringaypsa@hotmail.com, and there is a Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/pg/North-Harringay-Primary-School-PSA-570299596461568/ and a Google discussion group that you can join to view and participate in the day to day PSA discussion: https://groups.google.com/d/forum/nhp-psa

People
These are some of the parents involved with the PSA. If you see them in the play ground and would like to find out more about the PSA then feel welcome to stop them for a chat:

Past events and purchases
Each year the PSA raises thousands of pounds through fundraising events which is used to buy things that the school budgets would not otherwise allow. The biggest event each year is the school fair which is held on a Saturday in June, and along with raising money provides a fun filled social event for everyone.

The money raised each year gets used for things like playground equipment, musical instruments, school trips, stages and theatrical equipment, the roof garden, and many other things. In 2014 the big items purchased were:

Visualisers for classrooms which enable teachers to share children’s work, photographs and illustrations and texts from books onto our interactive whiteboards:

The 'Quiet Area' garden in the KS2 playground which gives children somewhere quiet and pleasant to sit during play times:
